The 50K Series

The DT-50 series is available in multiple displays to monitor your TACH, MPH, and up to four temperatures. Other features include built-in data logging, automatic timing, and PC downloading capabilities. This line is smaller and lighter than the original 30 series instruments and will continue to feature quality metal casing and bright, easy to read displays. Instruments with tachometers will work on applications where the tach signal is picked up off the spark plug wire, a tach output or the primary side of the coil.

50 Series Datalogging, Timing, P.C. Downloading:

Datalogging: All functions on the instrument can be datalogged for a total time of 140 minutes. The data can be played back on the instrument or downloaded to a PC. Data will be recorded every tenth of a second. Data is never lost unless the driver records over 140 minutes, or the memory is cleared by the "reset" key press. When the end of memory is reached, the oldest recorded data is overwritten first. There are four possible ways to view the engine and timing functions in the windows of the instrument.
Timing: All 50 series instruments come with a beacon receiver. The infrared beacon transmitter is optional. Not every racer will need a beacon because only one beacon is needed on the track. In addition, the Digatron beacon receiver will pick up a signal from competitors' beacons. The following lap data is available on 50 series instruments: lap time, lap number, event number, best lap time, split times, maximums for all functions, and minimums for TACH and MPH. Lap times are accurate to .01 seconds.
P.C. Downloading: All 50 series instruments have the ability to download to a PC. There is a charge for the cable that connects the instruments to the PC. The software to analyze the data will be free of charge.
Computer requirements for download: At least 250MHz Processor Speed, Windows 95, 98, ME, or XP.* At least 1 SERIAL port.** 16MB or higher RAM.

All recorded data can be downloaded and stored on the computer. The data will stay on the instrument until the memory is reset.

Beacon Data

The Digatron beacon features the following:

· "Smart" Beacon: The Digatron beacon can be programmed to output any one of 16 different signals. The beacon receiver will recognize these signals and the competitors' signal as well, but ignore other unwanted signals. The 50 series instruments can be programmed to ignore a beacon signal, accept the signal as a lap, or accept the signal as a split. The 40 series instruments cannot tell the difference between different beacon signals. Therefore, the 40 series instruments will accept any and all beacon signals as laps.

· AA Batteries: The Digatron beacon is powered by AA batteries, which allows for longer battery life than competitors' beacons. The beacon also has a low battery indicator. The Digatron beacon receiver does not require batteries.

· Metal Casing: The beacon and receiver come in quality metal cases.

Notes:

LED Lights: The 50 series instruments will come with (8) programmable LED lights. These lights can be individually set to respond as warning or shift lights.

Programmable Windows: The 50 series displays can be individually programmed to user preference (if more than 1 display). The user can choose which function will be displayed in which window in each of the 4 different display levels. This way the driver can see the exact combination of functions that he/she wants to see at the same time in each level. This is one of the reasons why our four-display instrument (54K or 54K TEK) is such a powerful instrument. Here is a 54 example: Level 1 could display 2 Temps, MPH, and RPM all at the same time. Level 2 could display RPM, MPH, Lap #, and lap time all at the same time. Level 3 could display Temp, RPM, best lap time, and lap time all at the same time. Level 4 could display event #, Lap #, split time, and lap time all at the same time. Then the driver can change from level to level with the press of the function button.
